Jamaica

Chaz here!

It’s always a pleasure to go to Jamaica and a few weeks ago I did just that. Thanks to @lindzlamb and @vasswani for hosting me.

I had made some drawings in my friends house and over the years they had deteriorated so it was a welcome opportunity to bring them back to life and add another single lad popping out from the fridge. The house/street dog Quatro became my new best friend.

We also started decorating the side of the new @kajaherbhouse weed shop in Ocho Rios where lots of friendly rastas came past offering to help with the work but in the end just helped me drink Red Stripe and smoke weed all day. Well, when in Rome! The wall was a little tough with the old ‘go back and fill all the gaps’ type surface but once fully blacked I was pleased with my crew of Dreddlads that adorned the wall.

The other artists involved were @lindz @skel @taozen -

Linda and Lamb continue to make sterling designs that always compliment their environment and it’s a pleasure to watch them grow.

Was fun to watch @skel paint with her skilled spray technique and delightful aura.

Taozen I met for the first time and it was amazing to see his energy and enthusiasm to paint and learn about the scene he is now very much a part of. It’s always satisfying to see home grown talent coming through as he will inspire younger artists as the scene grows in Jamaica.

Please check out all the artists above and see what they’re doing.

Aside from painting I also had my fair share of jerk chicken, Rum (well tequila mostly) and so many fist bumps that the skin across my right knuckles was almost gone when I left the island. That’s what you get when everyone is big upping and respecting each other all day. Bless up yourself Jamaica. Hope to see you again soon!! 👊🏻👊🏼👊🏽👊🏾👊🏿
