“Zeeburgerdijk” mural

Welcome to the Zeeburgerdijk mural, we like to give you more information and the possibility to take a piece home with you!

The mural is painted in 2017 on the side of the building at Zeeburgerdijk 49. You can see the mural from the road and from the train leaving from Amsterdam Central Station heading East and South. The building dates back from 1914 and it was already overlooking the railway line which was constructed in 1900.

The mural was painted in 2017 on initiative of local resident Coen Davelaar. He wanted to brighten up the wall after it was neglected for years and a gathering place for the homeless and drug addicts. The mural depicts nice details of Amsterdam such as the canal houses, flag of Amsterdam and the canal boat in the middle. Even the initiator himself on the mural is standing in front of his door with his walking stick.
